Climate Action Newcastle is grateful to our wonderful media volunteers for capturing and sharing news and activities across the year - they record pics and video, edit, write blogs and press releases and run social media outlets to reach thousands of climate-concerned local residents. This year, Jennifer and Annie have pulled together this four-minute end-of-year video - it's a flavour of the wonderful efforts made right around our area. Many thanks to every single campaigner! Whether you're finding and growing saplings, encouraging second-hand and refill pioneers, promoting active travel, supporting plant-based suppliers or doing a myriad of other ways to reduce carbon emissions - every action makes a difference to protect future generations.
We hope you find the video uplifting - please treat yourself to a moment to catch your breath and reflect on what has been achieved. Here is an extra video we felt tackled 2024 broader climate themes very powerfully, made by Greenpeace.
And if you've time, these words on Active Hope were delivered as part of the COP29 events in Newcastle:
"We are bits of stardust in a cosmic universe, but what we do now has consequences for the future - if we allow our perspective to be changed in these ways, we will be part of the solution!"
